Death occurs at hospital

When you contact us we will liaise with the bereavement office on your behalf. The medical certificate must be signed and then we will inform you when it can be collected from the hospital so you can begin the registration process. We will guide you through this procedure, the timescale for collection can vary depending on when the certifying doctor is available to sign the medical  certificate.

Death occurs at Home

We would advise you to contact the deceased person’s doctor as soon as possible after the death. The deceased’s doctor or another doctor will need to visit to confirm that death has occurred. When a doctor has certified the death we are then able to attend to bring your loved one into our care. We treat each person as if they were our own family member and as such you can be assured they are in good care.

Registration

Our advice for all families is to contact us immediately on 01482 504501, we can then book a registrars appointment for you at the appropriate office,  in order to obtain a certificate for burial or  cremation, commonly known as the  “green form“, this enables us to begin the funeral arrangements. If the coroner is involved, different producers may apply.
